Dr. Farah Akhtar was born in Houston, Texas and is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. She obtained her medical degree at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in Lubbock. Dr. Akhtar then completed her residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. After this, she proceeded to complete a second fellowship in Sleep Medicine at Stanford University. Her sub-specialty interests include COPD, asthma, and sleep apnea. Her passion lies in providing care to areas which previously may not have had access to sub-specialty doctors.

Dr. Akhtar is a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine and is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Sleep Medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her two children and husband.
