Dr. Wayne Yan is a Board-Certified Otolaryngology/Head and Neck surgeon. He obtained his medical degree from State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical Center where he excelled as an Alpha Omega Alpha honors graduate. He then completed his residency training in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at Yale-New Haven Hospital, which is rated one of the top 20 hospitals in the country per U.S. News in Ear, Nose & Throat patient care. Upon completion of residency, he joined a well-known private ENT practice in New York City and was appointed as volunteer faculty at New York Presbyterian Hospital Queen serving over 4,000 patients each year in the community.
Dr. Yan is committed to delivering high quality and modern care. He treats all general ear, nose and throat problems, and has developed expertise in treating many head and neck cancers including surgery of the thyroid and parathyroid glands. Dr. Yan also has specialized training in treating chronic ear diseases which require microsurgery.
Apart from providing appropriate medical and surgical treatment, Dr. Yan strongly believes that a patient’s understanding of their medical problem is just as vital to their healing process as the treatment itself, and he is a strong proponent of patient education during all patient visits.
Dr. Yan takes a multidisciplinary approach to managing complicated head and neck issues, and frequently works with medical and radiational oncologists, neurosurgeons, and plastic surgeons to provide the best care possible.
